Oil Burners & Diffusers

Most good quality oil burners will come with instructions on how to set them up. However, as a general rule, you use an oil burner as follows: Start by filling the top bowl or dish with a few drops of your chosen essential oil. Add water to the bowl as well, following the manufacturer's instructions for the correct ratio of oil to water. Place a lit tea light candle in the burner’s base to gently heat the oil mixture. As the water evaporates, the essential oil will release its aroma into the air. Make sure to monitor the water level and add more as needed to prevent the bowl from overheating. Always use the burner in a well-ventilated area and never leave it unattended.

To clean your oil burner, first ensure it is completely cool and the candle is extinguished. Remove any remaining oil and water from the bowl. Use a soft cloth or sponge to gently clean the inside of the bowl with warm soapy water. For any stubborn residue, a mixture of baking soda and water can be used. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel before using it again. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbing too hard, as this can damage the burner’s surface. Regular cleaning helps maintain the burner’s performance and appearance.

Most essential oils are suitable for use in an oil burner, but some should be used with caution. Avoid using oils that are too thick or have high concentrations of strong compounds, such as cinnamon or clove, as they may cause respiratory irritation or damage the burner.
