Chinese Astragalus root (Astragalus membranaceus) is native to the Yunnan & Sichuan provinces of Northern China, harvested in the Springtime and dried for at least four years before being used medicinally.

Traditionally used in Chinese medicine for fatigue, many people now tout it's benefits for combating seasonal allergies.

Complex polysaccharides in the root (alongside Flavonoids, amino acids & trace minerals) possibly have an effect have an effect on the immune system and has been reported to increase anti-body levels in healthy people.

Traditional Chinese Medicine textbooks recommend taking 9-15g of herb per day, in the form of a decoction, made by boiling the root for a few minutes and then leaving to steep and cool.

3-5ml of tincture is also sometimes recommended.
