Evening Primrose oil: Cenothera biennis

The oil is extracted from the seeds of the Evening Primrose plant. It has a high content of polyunsaturates and contains a large proportion of linoleic acid. It is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (average 7.1%), said to reduce blood cholesterol. Evening Primrose can be used to soothe many skin problems such as rashes, dry skin, eczema and psoriasis. Use this oil on its own or, if preferred, blend with another oil such as Jojoba. Once the bottle has been opened Evening Primrose oil has a very short life (up to 2 months).
