Mustard seeds (Sinapis alba / Brassica alba) have been used medicinally since the Greeks and is a popular culinary herb in Indian cooking.
Part of the Brassica family, like broccoli, radish & cabbage, this whole family of vegetables contain health promoting compounds called glucosinolates.
When broken down by the enzymes in the seed these compounds become isothiocyanates.
Mustard seeds are high in selenium and magnesium and can have a great anti-inflammatory effect.
