Infinity Foods Organic Currants

Currants need no introduction, these small sweet fruits are a firm favourite in both sweet and savoury dishes and have been traded, eaten and enjoyed extensively since ancient times. The English name "Currant" was derived from the Greek harbour city "Corinth" where the majority of the fruit was exported in the 14th century.

A small quantity of Sunflower oil is used to naturally preserve the aroma and flavour, and to prevent spoilage as well as prevent clumping.

Currants are smaller than their Raisin and Sultana counterpart but have a more intense sweet and slightly sour flavour and contain many of the same health benefits, including huge amounts of dietary fibre and are good sources of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
